Community Cougars...that CARE!!! Dec. 1, 2017

...where ALL students are UNIQUE and Wonderfully Made!

Time for POSITIVE ACTIONS!
Today is FUN FRIDAY where we see that our community cares about the students at
Warm Springs Intermediate School

Before we begin today's regularly scheduled programming, join Cutie the Cougar and the Positive Action Players for a journey around Warm Springs Intermediate School where we will take a look at our "Cougar Expectations!"
Get ready, get set, GO follow the Cougar Ways at RECESS!

Any questions?  Here are the Recess Expectations.  Let's talk about them:

I am so excited to be back for Positive Actions today, December 1st! Each Fun Friday in Positive Actions, we will meet a new friend in our community that cares about YOU!  Meet Mr. Larry Omps!

Have you ever driven by the Country Inn in downtown Berkeley Springs?  Maybe you have eaten there or know someone who works in the restaurant?  Well....Mr. Omps and his family are the owners of this landmark in Morgan County!  And, we found him in the lobby one day when he had just returned from vacation.

Here is today's video vlog from Mrs. Hott:

Some days are hard; but with Positive Thoughts, Actions, and Feelings, YOU can make choices to help you and others have a Positive future!

Here are a few questions for you:
1)  Think about someone in your family.  Tell your teacher one Positive Action that person did recently.
2)  Now, think about someone here in our school community.  What is one Positive Action you saw that you liked?  Next, be sure to tell that person "thanks!" for being Positive!
3)  And, think about someone from your neighborhood or community.  What Positive Action did you see that person do?
(Share answers with each other.)

Remember, it is a Positive Action to follow the Golden Rule because changing the world starts with one student at a time...and that is.....

YOU!

(close with Golden Rule and sing along when ready!)

Cougars that Care... at Recess! 9/6/2017

...where ALL students are UNIQUE and Wonderfully Made!

Time for POSITIVE ACTIONS!

I am so excited to be back for Positive Actions today, September 6th!  We are going to continue to spend some time taking a Cougar Crawl around Warm Springs Intermediate School this week to take a look at our rules and ways. For today, we will go OUTSIDE FOR RECESS on our Positive Action Vlogcast! YAY! See if YOU can recognize where our children are today...maybe you've been here too!

Here is the vlogcast from Mrs. Hott:

Let's all continue by checking out our
WSIS Cougar Ways for RECESS!

Let's read together then tell your teacher:
Why is it a Positive Action to follow the Cougar Way during Recess? (pause for discussion)

Who can we help when we follow the Cougar Way in the Recess?
(pause for discussion)

Before we close, let's consider why our school community wants us to follow the Cougar Ways around school, inside and out.  What do you think is the reason Mr. Cable, Ms. Miller, and our teachers want YOU to use all the "Cougar Ways" we have seen here on the vlogcast? (Explore possible answers from students at this time...and please add - if it doesn't come up - that following the Cougar Ways helps us to be safe, prevents accidents and injuries, encourages cooperation, are exercises that show we care, and utilize positive actions, etc...and when followed, makes our school a "caring cougar community!")

When we are able to get along today as students, we will be helping build the foundation for caring communities tomorrow when we are grown ups!

Let's close today with the Positive Action Theme Song!  On your feet,...and ready to be positive!

can change the world tomorrow!
