Talkin' Tues, 4/21/2020, RESPECT, GERM WEEK

...where ALL students are UNIQUE and Wonderfully Made!
Time for POSITIVE ACTIONS!

Today is TALKIN TUESDAY where we see that our school family of teachers, staff, and administrators care
about the students in
Morgan County Schools!

And, where we will take a Positive moment each week to
"Talk It Out"
and discuss important student issues.

We are so excited to be back for Positive Actions today, April 21, 2020! For each "Teacher Talkin' Tuesday" in Positive Actions, we will meet members of our school family community that care about YOU!

Here is today's video vlog where first for GERM WEEK, we share KNOWLEDGE to help us understand and stay healthy; then, we have a special treat to cheer you all up,...a friend from Widmyer Elementary:  Ms. Amber Stotler!  Watch this:

That was fun!

Next, watch this!
That was fun!
Show us how YOU wash your hands!  Film you and your family at home washing your hands; Email Mrs. Hott at angie@morganpartnership.org
And, we will share your Hand Washing on the Daily PAWsitive Action Community Vlogcast!
Why? Because it is a PAWsitive Action!
And, YOU are helping our community stay HEALTHY!

Guess what is next?!?  Since our Positive Action Word of the Week is respect, and in Spanish:  respeto.  We have a question for YOU!

YOUR student assets are what will help you succeed here at school and as you grow up.  When we learn more about each other, it helps to create a caring school climate, which is an essential external developmental asset.

So, guess what that means?!  We want to learn more about YOU too!  For Positive Actions each Tuesday, you will have the opportunity to share something new about yourself, and since we have a break from school, share it with your family.  It is "Talk It Out Time!"

Here is what we want you to do.  I will give you a completely different question each Tuesday, and you will share with your family and friends something brand new or unknown about yourself!  If you want, maybe you can ask your parent to DoJo your answer to your teacher OR you can email us at angie@morganpartnership.org.

So, for today's "Talk It Out," are you ready?  Here is our discovery question:
"Who is someone you RESPECT?"

I'll go first.  Hi!  My name is Mrs. Hott.  Someone I respect is Mrs. Kristen Tuttle!  Here she is:

Mrs. Tuttle is the Superintendent of Morgan County School.  I respect Mrs. Tuttle because she is a caring person, inspires others, and manages our county schools with a Positive Personality.  She is always ready to listen and encourage others too!  Mrs. Tuttle has ALL the "respect basics"....see:

YOUR turn!  "Who is someone YOU respect?" Now, let them know!  Do a Positive Action!  You can call/text/email/write that person and say:  "I respect you!"

"Talking it out" starts with one student at a time...and that is.....

YOU!
Morgan County Scholars who
RESPECT/RESPETO
can change the world!

MoTo Monday, RESPECT for 4/20/2020, GERM WEEK!

...where ALL students are UNIQUE and Wonderfully Made!

Welcome Morgan County FAMILIES to
POSITIVE ACTIONS!

The Morgan County Partnership is soooo pleased to provide our greater community with continued online Positive Actions programming with our regularly scheduled
"Daily PAWsitive Actions Community Vlogcast"
for families to share Positive Actions together!
Our Social and Emotional Wellness will be supported as we, especially now, continue each day with positive
THOUGHTS, ACTIONS, and FEELINGS!
SO, LET'S GET STARTED!!!!

More than ever these days, we can change the world with RESPECT!  How PAWsome that our regularly scheduled Positive Word of the Week 33, for April 13-17, 2020, is
RESPECT!
It may seem hard to be respectful as we are all staying at home; but, did you know that helping each other be healthy is RESPECT!  So remember this: When you wash your hands often....that's RESPECT too!  And, "staying home" is also hard, we know; but, it is a Positive Action that helps us show RESPECT for others so we all can be healthy!
Social Distancing can, and will, stop the virus.

Mrs. Hott and Mrs. Sheima are SUPER excited to share Positive Actions with Morgan County students because today, and each Monday, is when we "motor-up" YOUR school week and get ready for more PAWsome days of learning and growing...
"MOTO Monday!"
or, "Motovation Monday" where we will see a vlog to get our week "motored-up" with positive thoughts, actions, and feelings!
Today is April 20, 2020!
This week, we also work on our Intellectual Wellness too as we gain valuable KNOWLEDGE about viruses for
GERM WEEK!

Get ready to be inspired......watch this!

Social & Emotional Wellness!

Maybe you've been hearing the word "social distancing" lately?  That means for our physical health, we need to be staying home for a while.  However, if we remember toTHINK positive, we CAN be social remotely with digital media, or #AloneTogether, right?  So, keep reading our Daily PAWsitive Actions Community Vlogcast and Mrs. Hott and Mrs. Sheima will be here with you!

For mom & dad: "Social-Emotional WellnessEmotional wellnesssocial skills, and life skills are important tools for children to develop. They affect how children view themselves, interact with others, evaluate challenges, and explore choices. This includes handling stress, negative feelings, and difficult situations positively."
Here is a video for parents suggested by Dr. Kevin McLaughlin.  If you have a teen at home, please watch, then share this valuable video as it discusses the teenagers brain and how the Stay Home Order is difficult, and how important their part is to help stop the virus:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5hHkr6kUGEE

In order to help our emotions be healthy and well, we will be talking about a PAWsome word this week, RESPECT!

Our PAWsitive Action "word of the week" is: respect
And in Spanish:  respeto
Try to say "respeto"!
(TRY THIS in Spanish FOR THE  PRONOUNCIATION, then click the speaker!)

For Positive Actions, we are learning about wonderful words that build our Social and Emotional Wellness to help us all get along (at home, school, and in the community), raise our student assets, build confidence, and improve our academics!

The word "RESPECT" means "due regard for the feelings, wishes, rights, or traditions of others. "

This week, we will learn more about POSITIVE character values that help us all to follow the GOLDEN RULE!  On the vlogcast this week, we will meet Ms. Amber Stotler from Widmyer, see GERM WEEK videos with SID the Science Kid, Clay Germ Animation, and Germ Cartoons, value Vlog about RESPECT song, join a rock video "RESPECT", and finally, Judge McLaughlin joins us for FUN Friday.

Positive Actions appear in our schools this year and begins today on a journey together to discover that starting with positive thoughts, we can choose positive actions, and help us to gain positive feelings!  Take a look at our logo:
