Today is FUN FRIDAY where we see that our community cares about the students at
Warm Springs Intermediate School

I am so excited to be back for Positive Actions today, August 31st!! Each Fun Friday in Positive Actions, we will meet a new friend in our community that cares about YOU!  

NEWS FLASH ** NEWS FLASH ** NEWS FLASH

PAWsitive Actions has new content for this school year!  We will play something new called the "GOTCHA GAME"!  When YOU, or someone you know is caught doing a PAWsitive Action, I want to hear all about it and share that great news with our community!  

So, be looking for PAWsome PAWsitive Actions in YOUR home, school, and community; and, when you see it -- SHARE IT!  

Just ask your parent or guardian to record on their phone a quick cell phone message and email it to Mrs. Hott here:

When you do, guess what?!?  YOU will get a GOTCHA CAME CARD mounted in the school with your positive value word that looks like this:

We will collect YOUR PAWsome PAWsitive Actions, and make a "Cougar Footpath" across our school community.  Beginning today!..... Watch this:

Fun Friday features a special guest today who was a student in Morgan County Schools and recently moved away to go to college, Kat McLaughlin.  Guess what?  All over our communities at home, school, and even away, people are doing PAWsitive Actions!  Today's friend sent Mrs. Hott a message how she is RESPONSIBLE at her new school.  Have YOU seen a PAWsitive Action?  Have YOU been responsible this week?  Tell your teacher, and Mrs. Hott, all about it!

Have YOU ever been to the Morgan County Court House?  It is full of great people in our community that care about students.  They do Positive Actions EVERY day!  And, when we choose Positive Actions, we are making a community that cares here at school!

Remember, it is a Positive Action to follow the Golden Rule because changing the world starts with one student at a time...and that is.....

I am so excited to be back for Positive Actions today, August 30th! As we continue our Cougar Crawl around Warm Springs Intermediate School, today we will take a look at raising student assets and a super important positive action word:

RESPONSIBILITY

Tell your teacher what you think the word "RESPONSIBE" means.
* "accountable for one's behavior"
* "capable of being trusted"
* "having control of self"
* "opportunity or ability to act independently and make positive choices and decisions for self and others"

Time for POSITIVE ACTIONS!

Welcome to your 2nd week of the new school year!  

I am so excited to be back for Positive Actions today, August 27th!  We are going to continue to spend some time taking a Cougar Crawl around Warm Springs Intermediate School this week to take a look at our rules and ways in the school hallways, cafeteria, and restroom.

Last week, we began to see that following the school Cougar Ways shows kindness to our school family and helps keep us safe!  This week, we will take a look at the Positive Action word, RESPONSIBLE!

We witnessed some actions that were NOT positive, right?  Oh no!  Let's rewind!  Think about what you saw.  Tell your teacher an action that was not positive. (running, riding chairs, pushing, leading to even bullying)

You see, when we follow our "Cougar Ways" in the Hallways, it is not only waaaay safer, but it also eliminates pushing and romping which can cause both accidents and hurt feelings.

What suggestions do YOU have to help us have a community that cares in the halls here at Warm Springs Intermediate School?

What do you think would happen if students did not follow the Cougar Ways in the Cafeteria?

When students follow the Cougar Ways in the Cafeteria, who has positive feelings?  (students, teachers, Mr. Eric, Ms. Creama in the kitchen.....)

When we follow the Cougar Ways in the Cafeteria, it shows that we care and helps us to have a positive school community!  And guess what?  It also works at home too!  When mealtimes are device (cell phone) free, we can begin to have caring conversations with our families!  Try it tonight and tell your teacher how great talking with YOUR family feels!

To care.  It is very important for us to care for other people, our friends, class mates, teachers, and our friends, families, and neighbors.  Sometimes, with people we don't even know, we show a Positive Action just by caring for someone who needs our help, like when this officer helped a baby after there was a really big flood in New Orleans, LA.

We begin our school year looking at the Positive Action, SAFETY.  Safety is a doing acts that keep us healthy and unharmed.  WSIS wants ALL students to feel safe because we care about you!  A great way to stay safe is to follow the Cougar Ways and be kind to everyone!  If YOU are being KIND,.... we will all be safe!

 If we "care" about others, we will act kindly towards them.  Talk about what you noticed in this video were acts of caring for others.  For Positive Actions today, let's show our school community that we care too!

Remember this:  YOU can make a difference!  When you show others that you CARE, it makes a HUGE difference in their day AND it makes YOU feel PAWsome too!

I am so excited to be back for Positive Actions today, August 22nd!  We are going to continue spending some time looking at the Cougar Creed and taking a Cougar Crawl around Warm Springs Intermediate School over the next two weeks. 

Did you like the Minion's review of "Classroom Rules"?  Check out Wednesday's Video where our yellow friends return to review rules that apply for our Cougar Community that Cares.  Let's take a look at how following the classroom rules looks like Positive Actions, and pay close attention for scenes from yesterday too, they're important:

I am so excited to be back for Positive Actions today, August 21st!  We are going to spend some time looking at the Cougar Creed and taking a Cougar Crawl around Warm Springs Intermediate School over the next two weeks. 

How many of you happened to see the movie Minions 3?  

This was a fun movie!  I liked ALL of them!  Wellll....check out a few of our yellow friends as they illustrate POSITIVE classroom community clues with some super helpful classroom rules. 

Wow....Mrs. Hott feels a little bad for the purple guy, don't you?  Wonder why?....

Let's talk about it for TALKIN TUESDAY.

Today is August 20th!  The first day of school!!  

Our Morgan County Partnership with Mrs. Hott welcomes you back to school!  Positive Actions will appear in our school this year and begins today on a journey together to discover that starting with positive thoughts, we can choose positive actions, and help us to gain positive feelings!  Take a look at our logo:

And, to welcome you all, here is a message from Mrs. Hott to tell you more about this year's program about "paws"itive actions at home, school, and in our community!  

Did you see the beautiful stream of water behind Mrs. Hott?  Berkeley Springs is a unique community to live and grow up. And, just like that stream in the video is full of many drops of water, our school is also filled with unique and wonderfully made children.  When we add them all together, and mix in some positive acts of kindness, we've made a beautiful pool of water.  
Today, we will begin looking at my favorite value word:  Kindness.

Every act of Kindness, no matter how small, creates a ripple out and reaches our community around us.  Whether we are home, at school, or somewhere in our community, being kind is a Positive Action that helps us, and others, feel good.

Now, for Positive Actions today, our students at Warm Springs Intermediate School are going to begin to make our school a "Community of Cougars that Care!"  With just one act of kindness...it begins with YOU!
