A Mighty Girl Pick of the Day: "Charlotte the Scientist Finds A Cure" by Camille Andros. Creatures all over the forest are getting upset stomachs, and Charlotte the bunny scientist is determined to figure out why! The stumped doctors and scientists dismiss her efforts, but she holds firm to her grandfather's assertion that she will "make a real difference in the world." After some patient interviews and lab tests, Charlotte realizes the illness is caused by carrots contaminated by 'Funky Forest Fungi.' After a clinical trial to test that her new 'customized carrot corrective' cure works, Charlotte has saved the day! This delightful picture book -- which includes a short glossary on terms like "hypothesis” and “quarantine” -- celebrates ingenuity, determination, and the power of girls to change the world for the better. Highly recommended for ages 4 to 8.
