CHARACTER - Oct. 17, 2018 Video Vlog Vednesday

...where ALL students are UNIQUE and Wonderfully Made!

Today is VALUE VIDEO "V"EDNESDAY!

I am so excited to be back for Positive Actions today, Oct. 17th!  On Wednesdays, we will be examining Value Video Vednesdays when we will take a look at positive values to help us grow into a caring cougar community of students at Warm Springs Intermediate School.

Look at this PAWsome Gotcha being PAWsitive Game Card:

"Our School is Awesome" from Ms. Will who sends a big thank you to our administration, Ms. Ditto, and Nurse Julie who helped during a medical emergency last week.
See a Positive Action?  Send yours to Mrs. Hott too, and watch for more Gotcha Cards added to the "paw crawl" creeping around the school!

Today's video takes a look at a student with a positive CHARACTER.  When we work on our character development, we are making positive choices to become student with good moral and ethical qualities.

Watch today's VALUE VIDEO VEDNESDAY, and talk about which students illustrate CHARACTER:

Let's talk about it.

First of all, what is the Negative Action we see in this video?

Ok, so...Mrs. Hott wants to discuss something important now.  After the student pushes the other's books on the hallway floor, that student then laughs and walks down the hall.  This makes me feel so sad at that moment.  Why do you think he laughs?

This video makes me upset when I see that negative action, knocking down his books AND when I see that student laughing.  He does NOT have a Positive CHARACTER.  Do you know that anytime we act this way, we are also negative too?  Maybe we have not pushed another student's books out of his hands in the hall; but, if we have EVER done something like....
*snickered at someone's else when they are embarassed;
*excluded a student from something you are doing;
*encouraged others not to play with her/him;
*told someone "Let's not talk to (so and so...)"'
*called someone an inappropriate name;
*refused to sit next to "her" or "him";
*refused to "share" with a certain student; or
*ever laughed at someone who is hurt
YOU are not showing that you CARE and this is Negative CHARACTER.

Share if you have ever felt like the boy whose books get knocked down in front of all those kids.  What happened?  As you are remembering this and if you find yourself in a situation when a student is disrespecting you, Mrs. Hott wants you to say to yourself, "I am unique and wonderfully made!"  Walk away.  Seek students sharing Positive Character!

Discuss which student showed a Positive Thought?

Who shows a Positive Action?

What is the Positive Feeling you have when you see this video?

Now, think of a person who you know that has a Positive character and what that student or adult has done.

Today, Mrs. Hott wants you to do a Positive Action too!

Cougars that show Positive CHARACTER
can change the world!
