WELLNESS WEDNESDAY and WHERE ARE POSITIVE ACTIONS! In the classroom, at home or work, and virtual school, all use Positive Actions to focus on community well being. PAWsitive Partnership join us each Wednesday for a moment to focus on physical health by following School Therapist, Lacee Kidwell, in gentle stretches and mindfulness. Opposite weeks take a look at healthy eating for healthy bodies lead by WVU Extension Office Family Nutritionist, Amiee Tutor.

Positive Action Word of the Week: UNIQUE / ÚNICO:ÚNICA!
(Book 1 of 13). The Morgan County Partnership's Positive Action program presents "All Are Welcome" By Alexandra Penfold; illustrated by Suzanne Kaufman, for a series of stories on Race & Diversity.
"All are welcome at this school where diversity is celebrated and songs, stories, talents, and traditions are shared." See a beautiful story unfold before your eyes then join Mrs. Hott for "Let's Talk About It" discussion questions suitable for all ages, at home and in the classroom too.
"Let's Talk About It" Time from Violet! Be sure to pause the video and discuss some "easy questions about the hard stuff" to begin building empathy in our neighborhoods.

Start the school year off right when you welcome students and families with books and reading fun! When you share All Are Welcome, you deliver the important message that school is the place where every child is welcome. Follow the example in this book and host a community-building, back-to-school event that opens opportunities for talking about diversity, how we can learn from each other, and how we can have fun together even if we are different. Include a reading aloud of All Are Welcome at a back-to-school potluck picnic along with:
students and parents making welcome banners to decorate your school
a photo booth with props that say “welcome” in all the major languages spoken in your community
an opportunity for families to sign up for a public library card.

New Wellness Program from Morgan County Partnership! Guided Meditations and Mindfulness to help all ages relax, refocus, and redefine actions for self regulation and direction towards positive behaviors. Lead by School Therapist from Widmyer, Lacee Kidwell, her original script with music by soft euphoniums of Isaac Hott, will help all find our Social and Emotional Wellness.
Mrs. Kidwell's Guided Meditations will be programmed weekly during Positive Action's programming, Mindfulness Minutes.
Family Art Fun for Wednesday! BAG Self Portraits
Wednesday- Draw a bag self-portrait. On the outside of a paper bag, you'll create a self-portrait. On the inside, you'll fill it with things that represent who you are. You can put little pictures in your bag, if you like to draw you can a pencil or a crayon, if you enjoy reading you may include a small book, etc.

PAWsitive YOGA for Kids! Weekly Wellness and Mindfulness from the Morgan...
Week 13 (original broadcast for Sept 2): School Therapist, Mrs. Lacee Kidwell, and her PAWsome YOGA assistant, tiny Alanah, lead this beginners YOGA class with basic poses, stretches, and moves to promote health, wellness, and mindfulness skills. Super easy poses include Mountain, Blown Palm (my favorite), Tree, Mountain, Ragdoll, Downward Dog, Butterfly, Peacock (NEW!), Seated Side Bend, Cat, Cow, Rock, and Cobra. Plus warm up with the "Marching Fingers". Close listening to Mrs. Kidwell's guided relaxation, "Nature Sanctuary".
Excellent instruction for all ages; watch with your kids, ask friends to join you, or just follow with Mrs. Kidwell. Presented weekly by the Morgan County Partnership's Positive programming, follow here:
