I am so excited to be back for Positive Actions today, August 30, 2019! Each Fun Friday, in Positive Actions will meet a new friend in our community that cares about YOU!  Meet Officer Vanorsdale, who has an important job in Morgan County!  He helps keep our community SAFE!

Today is Raising Student Assets Thursday!

I am so excited to be back for Positive Actions today, August 29, 2019! As we continue to discuss school SAFE expectations, we will take a look at raising student assets and a super important positive action word:

CARE

Tell your teacher what you think the word "CARE" means.
"to feel concern for others, recognizing that other student's interests and likes are important too"

To care.  It is very important for us to care for other people, our friends, class mates, teachers, and our friends, families, and neighbors.  Look around at your new school friends.  Go on. Check out all the PAWsome classmates who care about YOU and new friends for you to show that you care about them! 

Sometimes, with people we don't even know, we show a Positive Action just by caring for someone who needs our help.

That was a beautiful video showing a caring, safe community!  We begin each school year looking at the Positive Action, SAFETY.  Safety is a doing acts that keep us healthy and unharmed.  We want ALL students to feel safe because we care about you!  A great way to stay safe is to follow the school rules and be kind to everyone!  If YOU are being KIND,.... we will all be safe!

 If we "care" about others, we will act kindly towards them.  Talk about what you noticed in this video were acts of caring for others.  For Positive Actions today, let's show our school community that we care too!

Remember this:  YOU can make a difference!  When you show others that you CARE, it makes a HUGE difference in their day AND it makes YOU feel PAWsome too!

I am so excited to be back for Positive Actions today, August 28, 2019!  For a look at safety expectations, we are going to join those yellow fellows again for a value video illustrating safe rules with a load of silliness to help us remember expectations at school, the classroom, and our specials like the Library.

Did you like the Minion's review of "Classroom Rules"?  Check out Wednesday's Video where our yellow friends return to review rules that apply for our schools.  Let's take a look at how following the classroom rules looks like Positive Actions, and pay close attention for scenes from yesterday too, they're important!  Get ready and remember to watch the final 30 seconds to see "Where in Morgan County?" Are Positive Actions this week:

What were some PAWsitive Actions we can follow at our school too?  When were those Minions NOT positive?  Why should we follow Positive Actions?  Because it helps us stay SAFE and have good feelings here in our school community!

Today is TEACHER TALKIN' TUESDAY!

I am so excited to be back for Positive Actions today, August 27, 2019!  How are you all doing back to school?  Just like those stars helped guide Simba in the Pride, at school we have expectations to guide us and help us all stay SAFE:

We are going to spend some time looking at school expectations with a Cougar Crawl around Warm Springs Intermediate School over the next two weeks. How many of you happened to see the movie Minions 3?  

This was a fun movie!  I liked ALL of them!  Wellll....check out a few of our yellow friends as they illustrate POSITIVE classroom community clues with some super helpful classroom rules. 

Wow....Mrs. Hott feels a little bad for the purple guy, don't you?  Wonder why?....

Let's talk about it for TALKIN TUESDAY.  

What did YOU notice?

What are some Positive Actions we can follow in our classroom?

Why is it important to follow the "School PBIS Expectations"?

Mrs. Hott is SUPER excited to share Positive Actions with Morgan County students because today, and each Monday, is when we "motor-up" YOUR school week and get ready for more PAWsome days of learning and growing... 

"MOTO Monday!"    

or, "Motovation Monday" where we will see a vlog to get our week "motored-up" with positive thoughts, actions, and feelings!

Our PAWsitive Action "word of the week"is:  SAFETY

For Positive Actions, we are learning about wonderful words that build our Social and Emotional Wellness to help us all get along (at home, school, and in the community), raise our student assets, build confidence, and improve our academics! 

This week, we will see our school family practice PAWsitive behavior that shows SAFETY in our school community! Let's take a look at another community called a "pride" where a diverse group of animals live together in harmony too.  Maybe you have seen this movie over the summer?

Positive Actions will appear in our schools this year and begins today on a journey together to discover that starting with positive thoughts, we can choose positive actions, and help us to gain positive feelings!  Take a look at our logo:

 Berkeley Springs is a unique community to live and grow up. And, just like that stream in the video is full of many drops of water, our schools are also filled with unique and wonderfully made children.  When we add them all together, and mix in some positive acts of kindness, we've made a beautiful pool of water.  
Today, we will begin looking at my favorite value word:  Kindness.

Every act of Kindness, no matter how small, creates a ripple out and reaches our community around us.  Whether we are home, at school, or somewhere in our community, being kind is a Positive Action that helps us, and others, feel good.

Now, for Positive Actions today, our students are going to begin to make our school a Community that Cares!"  With just one act of kindness...it begins with YOU!

Each Fun Friday in Positive Actions, we will meet a new friend in our community that cares about YOU!  Today, we will join Mrs. Hott and Mrs. Sheima for an exciting medley full of Positive Action words we will learn about this year.  Check it out!

Remember, it is a Positive Action to be optimistic about our new school year!  We all rise up each morning to begin a new day of learning.  It is a chance for each of us to become better friends, better scholars, and better students in our community.    Changing the world starts with one student at a time...and that is.....

Today is August 19th!  The first day of school!!  

The Morgan County Partnership, with Positive Action hosts Mrs. Hott and Mrs. Sheima, welcomes you back to school!  

We begin our 2019-2020 School Year from the top of Morgan County!  LOOK!  Here we are waaaaaay up on Capon Mountain that overlooks are beautiful community where YOU live here in gorgeous West Virginia.  Waaaaay over there is YOUR home!  See?

Let's get started!

Just as the sun rises every morning over Morgan County, each day is a new opportunity to think positive about what lies ahead for us here at our PAWsome school!  Regardless of what happened yesterday, or last year, today is going to be positive because YOU are here!

Mrs. Hott has three very important things I want you ALL to remember this year!  Here they are!

1) YOU are unique,

2) YOU are important, and

3) YOU are wonderfully made!

"Every Child, Every Day!" YOU each make our school and community a great place to learn!  So that you won't forget how special you are, let's say it together!  Ready?.....Here we go:
