Giving and Caring! Dec. 20, 2018 - Raise the Roof....

...on student assets!
Where ALL students are UNIQUE and WONDERFULLY MADE!

Today is Raising Student Assets Thursday!

LOOK!  Ms. Young nominates a 4th grader who shows others kindness!  Congratulations to JILLIAN McCARTHY for being PAWsome and friendly during recess this week!  Jillian shows PAWsitive Actions by being a friend to others! Here's your "Gotcha Being PAWsitiave Game Card" for the WSIS PAW CRAWL!

It's begining to look a lot like the holidays all over Warm Springs Intermediate School.  Cougars everywhere are thinking about people in their community to share PAWsitive Actions with over the holiday break!  From carols in the cafeteria to ornaments in the Cougar Den, Mrs Hott found the best GIFTS of all......YOU!!!
Sharing a special GIFT for mom!

Blake made Mrs. Hott happy to share his GIFT with her!

Thanks to our soldiers sharing holidays with students!

I am so excited to be back for Positive Actions today, Dec. 20th! As we continue to improve our positive thoughts, actions and feelings, today we will take a look at raising student assets and a super important positive action word:

Tell your teacher what you think the word "GIVING" means.
"freely transferring something to someone else"

GIVING.  What does "GIVING" look like?
I LOVE how this story begins... "We didn't have much to give them..."  Sometimes, I feel like I don't have anything cool enough to share or give someone else.  Like, there are kids way better than me with way better stuff.  But remember, each one of you are unique and have something special to share.   Watch this video:

What do YOU think was given to the poor people in the car?  An extra basket of apples, right?
Yes...but, the "cool" thing is this dad taught his son was to give those extra apples without it being expected of them - a beautiful gift in itself!
Dad saw a need and, with a Positive Thought (caring), gave a little extra (apples), the Positive Action.  Giving something you have (especially without being asked), gives a Positive Feeling!

YOU can show you care by giving to others!  And, you don't have to be rich to do this.
Think of someone in your class.  What is something you can share with them?  (a smile, invitation to play, etc.)
Think of someone at home.  How can you show you care by giving? (help, make a card, smile...etc.)
Now, think of someone in your community who needs help or looks sad, maybe.  How can you share your gifts?  (smile, hugs, etc...)

And remember, it is also important to know that here at Warm Springs Intermediate School, we are all part of a "cougar community" where positive actions start with...

Cougars that GIVE can change the world!
